About Phimosis
The foreskin, also known as the prepuce, is a sheath of skin that covers the head (glans) of the penis.
The roles of the foreskin are protective and sensory. It protects the sensitive glans from foreign substances and abrasion. It also plays a role in sexual functions, potentially enhancing pleasure due to its rich nerve supply.
Benefits of keeping the foreskin may include natural lubrication, which can reduce friction during sexual activity. The foreskin may enhance sexual pleasure due to its sensitivity and ability to stimulate the glans. It also shields the glans, preserving its sensitivity.
Phimosis is a condition in which a tight foreskin can not be pulled back over the head of the penis. It is normal in young uncircumcised boys, and often corrects itself naturally over time. For some adult males, it can cause pain, discomfort and difficulty in sexual function or in maintaining good personal hygiene.

B. Soft protected Glans
C. Pin-hole Phimosis
There are 5 grades of uncomplicated Phimosis from extreme 'pinhole' Grade 1, to mildly tight but retractile Grade 5. Your doctor will diagnose the Phimosis grade during a physical examination.

Treatment options for adult phimosis include non-surgical methods such as the application of topical corticosteroid creams and manual stretching. Foreskin tissue expansion using a medical device is another conservative approach. If these treatments are ineffective, surgical procedures such as circumcision or preputioplasty may be considered.
Using Novoglan
Clinical trials* have established that the Novoglan® Foreskin Tissue Expander medical device is effective in treating all grades of Phimosis in selected adult patients.
* Clinical Data from Novoglan PMS 2021 Random sample of 811 patients. See peer reviewed scientific paper published in Translational Andrology and Urology journal: https://tau.amegroups.org/article/view/115945/html
Lasting results can be achieved by applying gentle controlled stretching pressure between the foreskin and glans (head of the penis), using the Novoglan® medical device daily for up to 30 minutes or as directed by your Doctor. While you may notice some early improvements within a few weeks, you should continue with treatment for at least 6 weeks.

When skin tissue is repeatedly stretched growth of new skin cells is stimulated through a natural process called Mitosis. The Novoglan® device gently stretches the foreskin, resulting in more foreskin tissue over time. This increased surface area naturally loosens the foreskin, allowing it to be pulled back normally.

The effectiveness of the Novoglan® Foreskin Tissue Expander for treating Phimosis depends on various factors, including the severity of the condition and an individual's natural response to treatment. In clinical trials, 90% of participants could fully retract their foreskin after 6 weeks of daily treatment.
It is important to carefully follow the instructions for use and be consistent with your treatment to help ensure the best possible outcome and permanent results.
No. The Novoglan® balloon inflation medical device was developed with leading international Urologists and designed to effectively treat Phimosis without using a topical steroid. Your Doctor may prescribe a steroid if you also suffer with Balanitis / B.X.O. Follow you Doctor's advice.
